Willy Sketch is the main character of Stale Pancakes Oldies. He appears in the most comics therein, and has that blank slate, happy go-lucky protagonist personality. His bald head and yellow shirt branded with a "W" make him easy to spot - you can even read his face beneath his wigs when playing other characters in biblical dramas.
Willy Sketch's parents were murdered by The Robber when he was but a child and still had hair. He was then taken in by Bob Who, a neighbor, who abused him and made him do grueling yard work. It is around this time that Willy became bald. I like to think that it was because of stress, or maybe it was a forced element of his servitude to Bob Who.
In any case, Dave Wilson took him in and prosecuted Bob Who, who went to jail and would later be an antagonistic shadowy force in Willy's life. Dave and Willy's relationship is hinted at, for example, in "3 comicks", where Willy purchases alcohol from Dave's store. Dave takes his money and promptly grounds him for consuming alcohol, to attempted comedic effect.
An old diagram of Willy shows that he wields an axe (although it reads "yields"). He has smelly armpits. More interestingly, though, it reads that his arms and legs were "struck by lightning to be stronger". It's an interesting fiction of lightning, and an interesting view on how one becomes strong. Regardlesss, I guess that happened to him.
The Special One.
The Original One.
The Reader.
Willy Sketch has been a part of Stale Pancakes 2 weeks prior to its creation! Back then he was "The Reader"...hence the "R" [his shirt used to have an "R" instead of a "W"]. He first appeared in a comic called "Jonah", and it was based on the bible story of Jonah and the Whale. It was suggested in this comic that the whole thing was a play and that Willy played the part of Jonah.
No one really knew what was up with the whole "shirt" thing -- I guess everyone just wore huge shirts.
Joe Turtle was made much before this and their relationship is STILL debatable. Joe is shown as a bully, and even drank beer in the EARLY days. Sometimes Willy n' Joe are friends -- sometimes, quite the contrary!
Willy's favorite Christmas song is suggested to be "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". He has been bald. The answer as to why is unknown.
His favorite weapon is the Battle Axe, as several times in comics and doodles he is pictured with one.
More evidence for Willy's being a friend of Joe's is that they both run a show called "Willy and Joe's Jam", which, by the way, is now 100% Dodo-bird free. The way they got the show was from a "Job Entry" stand. At the beginning of each show, they both say the Bacon Pledge.
Usually, Willy's backstory is as follows: Bob Who adopts and abuses Willy after his parents are murdered. Dave Wilson then contacts the authorities and takes him in.
Willy's best friend is debatable: the canadites are Willy Johnson/Nathaniel Schmoyer, Rob Erase, Joe Turtle, Roscoe Sheep, or Bill Pumpkin.

Cuz Dave is rich, Willy owns a theater where they put on Biblical plays and his TV show, "Willy and Joe's Jam!". Additionally, they film seasonal "movies".
Willy can get violent/profane when it comes to comics.
After his debut, Willy had a shirt with a striped "R".
