Originally billed as Willy Sketch's pet, or the pet of his caveman ancestor named The Past. He was drawn a couple times and included in most of the old character lists, but never was wholly in any comics. The only comic he is in is one lampooning him for never being used.
The Pet is a retired character. He is (was) a dog-monkey creature from the Ice Age.
