The Paladin is a reoccuring character throughout comics made by Nate during the ninth grade. I never really could get him to stick.
In The Tenth Crusade, Paladin is known as Helm. He and his other helmeted friends try to take back Jerusalem as a third party to the Israel-Palestine conflict. He's very fired up and ready to go out there. I guess he's the idealistic protagonist who would be fleshed out by the other characters.
Much like the beginning of The Tenth Crusade, Paladin - here, The Crusader - is sitting in front of the TV and decides to do something with his life. This time around, he's a little less adventurous and more matter-of-fact and understated. I think that's why that comic wouldn't ever really work. You need some energy, some umph, and none of the characters really had it.
In Wrestling, he appears as the opponent of Drumstick until The Reptile Brothers show up.
